The mountains of ice remain.

High of 39 degrees today, with some sunshine.

The wind blows across the yard, shaking the tree boughs.

Our trees are growing tiny stems for future leaves.

The grass is a dull shade of brown.

In March it's hard to be patient,

The warmth doesn't come soon enough.

C'mon spring!

  1. March does always seem like a long month of waiting.I like your noticing of the branches growing

  2. I can sense the longing in the small details you've provided. Hoping a little sunshine and green breaks through soon. Hang in there!

  3. You have captured this part of winter just before spring so well. It is hard to be patient, I agree.

  4. Yes, being patient is so hard at this point in the winter. The best part of winter to me is
    When it’s over!

  5. UGH! SAME!! I'm so tired of the snow and the ice and the cold. Today I drove on bare asphalt and was so happy about it. LOL

  6. The waiting for spring thing is not fun. We have had a couple of days of warm this week, but are going back to cold and rain and snow tomorrow. AARGH!
