School ended at 3:50 p.m.
4:00 meeting with principal
4:20 chat with math resource teacher (she grounds me so well)
5:00 run back to the room to create 1/2 day sub plans
5:15 text from hubby that he's landed at the airport
oh
I'm not finished.
Typical.
I ask via text if we can grab food then come back to school.
I have to finish.
He agrees.
Surprising, but typical.
My reply text,

I love you"
This is a slice that really resonates... It's just hard to be "done" with our work as teachers and so special to have spouses / partners who understand and value the work and the time it takes.
ReplyDeleteI love the count that you have going. Mine is at a much lower number but growing everyday. Sounds like you have a very supportive, understanding spouse...teachers need those.

ReplyDeleteIt makes such a difference when your significant other gets it and supports you. It takes a special person to be the support person of a teacher. I am sure you are just as supportive of his endeavors.

ReplyDeleteI love this. I'm going to start my own count! :-) Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww! Such a sweet interchange!
ReplyDeleteAw, so sweet is right.
ReplyDeleteYup I agree so sweet! But it works both ways and you are just as sweet! XO
ReplyDeleteThat's what makes a great marriage - the give and take and lots of love and understanding.
ReplyDeletePerfect in our crazy, teaching and married lives.
ReplyDeleteI think so many of us can relate to this. My second date with my husband was setting up my classroom for a new school year.
ReplyDeletePS What did you get for dinner?
