School ended at 3:50 p.m.
4:00 meeting with principal
4:20 chat with math resource teacher (she grounds me so well)
5:00 run back to the room to create 1/2 day sub plans
5:15 text from hubby that he's landed at the airport

oh

I'm not finished.
Typical.
I ask via text if we can grab food then come back to school.
I have to finish.

He agrees.
Surprising, but typical.

  1. This is a slice that really resonates... It's just hard to be "done" with our work as teachers and so special to have spouses / partners who understand and value the work and the time it takes.

  2. I love the count that you have going. Mine is at a much lower number but growing everyday. Sounds like you have a very supportive, understanding spouse...teachers need those.

  4. It makes such a difference when your significant other gets it and supports you. It takes a special person to be the support person of a teacher. I am sure you are just as supportive of his endeavors.

  11. I think so many of us can relate to this. My second date with my husband was setting up my classroom for a new school year.
PS What did you get for dinner?
