This year

I missed the egg hunt, the lamb cake, the kielbasa.

I missed having my nephews run around the yard.

I missed cleaning the house (not really) and hiding the baskets.

I missed helping Jeff cook and mess up the kitchen.

*** yet***

I gained an opportunity to be with my whole family, in one town, spending time together.

I gained a chance to see my oldest, in the middle of a stressful week.

I gained quiet time with my youngest.

I gained good conversation with my husband.

It was worth it

This year.

  1. Loved this simple slice contrasting your traditional holiday with one that is perhaps different. It sounds like you traveled, which, if you are like me, like to stay home on these days. But, you saw the joys in the change of tradition. And, that's what it's all about. Yes, that's a little hokey pokey-ish. :-)

  3. What a beautiful Easter it sounds like. :) I think special time with family is so important even thought we miss the other time. :) Happy Easter! It sounds like it was a blessed one!

  4. Always the trade-offs, right? You can't start something new without giving up something old.

  5. What a great post, at first it seems disappointing, but I love all of the positives on the flip side! Sometimes we focus so much on what we miss that it's hard to see what we gain
