Remodeling - SOLC #13

Join us for the Slice of Life Writing Challenge at

Remodeling is a work in progress
Contractors come and go
Dust covers every surface
It travels through the air

Gypsum dust
Sawdust
Concrete dust

Walls coming down, being rebuilt
A ceiling finally covers the room
Paint, flooring, cabinets next
Remodeling is a dusty, messy, crazy
Design coming to life

  1. Very exciting! Is that the basement? I love house projects. Can't wait to see the end result!

    1. It's the basement re-remodel! We finished the basement 12 years ago, but never put in ceilings! Now there will be a freshened up bathroom and new office! :)

  2. Think about the end result! You'll love it! Too bad those contractors don't clean up all the dust...that stuff get in everywhere!

  3. I love your poem and the picture - it so clearly represents the flux into which your life goes during a remodel. But the end results will be worth it. The dust that stays around forever is probably my least favorite thing about it.
    Enjoy the results!!!!
